Archaeologists opened a tomb and found edible honey. Honey is so low in moisture, bacteria simply can't survive in it. But here's the part nobody mentions — bees add an enzyme that releases hydrogen peroxide as honey cures. Low moisture, natural acidity, and peroxide — three locks that keep honey safe indefinitely.
